Privacy Policy
Last updated: replace this line with your update date.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Video Downloadz ("we", "us") processes when you use this website, why we process it, and the choices you have. We designed the service to collect as little as possible.
1. What the service does
Video Downloadz lets you submit a public video URL and receive a link to save that video. We do not host, store or publish video libraries. Files are only relayed to you or fetched by your browser, and temporary files created during processing are deleted automatically.
2. Information we process
- URLs you submit — used only to resolve the downloadable file for that request. They are not published or sold.
- IP address — used for rate limiting, abuse prevention and coarse, aggregated statistics.
- Technical data — browser type, device type and timestamps, used for security and troubleshooting.
- Local storage — your theme choice and cookie-consent choice are stored in your browser, not on our servers.
- Aggregate counters — daily request and bandwidth totals, without per-person profiles.
We do not ask for your name, email or account, and we do not sell personal data.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
We use only essential cookies (session/consent). If analytics or advertising is enabled on this site, those third-party providers may set cookies or similar identifiers under their own policies and consent requirements. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the core service keeps working.
4. Third-party services
Depending on configuration, this site may use a hosting provider, an analytics provider, advertising networks, and a video-resolution backend. Those providers process data as independent controllers or processors under their own privacy policies. We only send them what is necessary to perform the service.
5. Legal bases and your rights (GDPR/UK GDPR)
Where applicable, we rely on: legitimate interests (operating and securing the service), consent (analytics/advertising and non-essential cookies), and legal obligation (responding to lawful requests). You may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your data, to object, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
6. Data retention
Request logs and temporary processing files are kept only as long as needed for security, rate limiting and operation, then deleted. Aggregate counters contain no personal identifiers.
7. Security
We apply reasonable technical measures, including rate limiting, input validation and protection against server-side request forgery. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
8. Children
The service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly process their personal data.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process data in other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy; the date above will change. For privacy questions or requests, contact [your contact e-mail].
